Dear VISIONARIES,

This will be the final issue of our external newsletter—unless you become a member (and we hope you do!)

We’ve loved sharing our insights and updates with you, and we hope they’ve made a difference. To continue receiving these stories, resources, and invitations, we invite you to become a VISIONS member today. Your membership not only keeps you in the loop—it helps sustain the work of building belonging in a divided world.

Rooted in Relationship: Choosing Humanity in a Time of Division

Dear VISIONS Community,

Earlier this year, I attended Notes to Humanity, a powerful gathering hosted by an organization called Life Calling. The experience was deeply moving—an intentional, multisensory reflection on what it means to stay human in an age increasingly shaped by technology, disconnection, and fear.

What struck me most was not just the emotion in the room, but also the clarity: preserving our shared humanity requires more than awareness. It requires action—rooted in empathy, story, and courageous dialogue…and together.

At VISIONS, we believe healing and justice are relational. For over 40 years, we’ve supported organizations, leaders, and communities in building the skills needed to transform conflict, navigate identity, and foster true belonging. As dehumanizing language and polarizing rhetoric rise in public discourse—often echoing dangerous historical patterns—we’re reminded that systems don’t change unless people do. And people can’t change in isolation.

That’s why we’re doubling down on what we do best: creating space for dialogue, emotional literacy, and behavior change across lines of difference. This moment calls for more than statements. It calls for relationships. For community. For everyday peacemaking.

These turbulent times remind us why VISIONS exists. As we witness what many call a whitelash — a backlash against equity, inclusion, and truth-telling — our work is more urgent than ever. We often celebrate liberation as the goal, yet in truth, it marks the start of the deeper work ahead. The hard work and struggle don’t end.

At VISIONS, we know that justice and liberation are not just destinations. They are choices we make every day in how we lead, teach, and build communities. In moments when it feels easier to retreat or normalize harm, we remain committed to creating spaces where people can speak truth, navigate complexity with courage, and find solidarity beyond fear.

We’re grateful to be in this work with you—and excited to share more below about what’s ahead this summer, including workshops, leadership initiatives, and new ways to engage with our learning community.

One of those ways is through our new VISIONS Membership Circle—an opportunity to connect more deeply, access exclusive tools and learning spaces, and join a growing community of every day changemakers committed to healing, equity, and transformation.

If you haven’t already, we invite you to join us. Together, we can build something powerful—rooted in relationship, resilience, and the shared work of change.

Additionally, democracy is not something we have; it is something we do. And we need to ALL keep at it. Together. As we continue this critical work, we need your support to get through this time. By investing in VISIONS now, you are helping ensure we can keep building the courageous, inclusive future our communities deserve.

Thank you for refusing passivity, staying grounded in love, and believing that a better world is possible when we build it together.

With heart and hope,

Elika

We need your support! VISIONS is still navigating this current time of uncertainty with our work. Folks are either apprehensive about continuing the work they’ve been doing with us, uncertain about what might happen if they reach out due to the unknown, or have already experienced pulled funding. Another client, a couple of weeks ago, cut their contract short in the middle of training as their leadership was fearful of the backlash of doing this work. It’s happening more often and this has definitely put our organization in a corner as we try to wait out the storm. We are working to keep going - continuing this vital transformative work.

You have been a supporter of this VISIONS in some shape, form or fashion. And it has been so reassuring. We need you now more than ever.

How can you help?

  • Consider a gift. Whether small or transformational, it makes a difference.
  • Become part of VISIONS Membership Circle. Whether you are a facilitator, leader, education, advocate, or simply someone who wants to live out your values more fully – this space is for you. We offer 3 tiers for individuals on a monthly or annual basis.
  • Sign up for a VISIONS Client Membership. Are you a former client or know of an organization that could use VISIONS support on a retainer? Client members have access to guidance from our trainers, a supportive community to support with insights and solutions, and ongoing discounted learning opportunities for those new to VISIONS or for previous clients who have new staff or others in need of refresher training. We offer 3 levels of support to meet various budgets.
  • Sponsor the Learning Institute. This immersive program offers the tools, frameworks, and peer support needed to lead with authenticity, navigate complexity, and drive lasting systemic change. Donations made will offset the cost for training delivery and provide scholarships to those in need.
  • Sponsor a youth at VISIONS Legacy Project. This 5-week summer cohort teaches the VISIONS model to the next generation. Youth learn to be instruments of social change and are equipped with skills necessary to be peer educators. Funding supports the projects, materials and the end of the project community event that the youth put on to share what they have learned.

There are many meaningful ways to support VISIONS, and we’re deeply grateful for each and every one.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who promoted, placed a bid, or took home an item in our Online Sports Auction. Your participation and generosity make a real impact!

    • George Sieburg, Vice President

We are so grateful for the dedication, time, and heart he’s poured into VISIONS over the years. We’re happy to share that Vincent remains an active board member and now co-chairs our Marketing & Fund Development Committee alongside Wadye Morton—continuing to shape our path forward with vision and care.
