John Capitman

Dr. Capitman is a co-founder of VISIONS and a social psychologist specializing in race/ethnicity, gender, and life-course issues. His work explores how public policies and practitioner decisions create and sustain inequalities in health and well-being. He helped to develop the modern racism theory highlighted in VISIONS workshops and consultations. Currently, he is an Emeritus Professor of Public Health at California State University, Fresno. He earned his doctorate from Duke University.
