Sarah Stearns is a licensed clinical psychologist and Senior Consultant with VISIONS, Inc. After receiving her PhD from Duke University in 1984, she has been a practicing psychotherapist, faculty member, and consultant for the past 31 years, both in the New York City vicinity and the San Francisco Bay Area. Her clients have included foundations, non-profits, medical, educational, and spiritual communities who are seeking pathways to greater equity and inclusion. Currently, she is sought out for her expertise in race and gender, leadership development, and the integration of cultural analysis into strategies for changing human systems. She uses the social context of her life as a white, middle-class woman to compassionately challenge unexamined elements of power and privilege in her commitment to developing all our capacities to create healthy and sustainable relationships and organizations.
