Ian Douglas

Ian T. Douglas has been associated with VISIONS since 2000 as a professor at Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA teaching in the area of liberation theology and ecumenical/interfaith studies. As Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut from 2010-2022, he engaged VISIONS to change the organizational and staff dynamics of the diocese to recognize, understand, appreciate, and utilize differences as fundamental to the life and health of the church. Ian holds a Master of Divinity and Master of Education in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Religion and Culture from Boston University. He has worked extensively internationally and cross-culturally in the worldwide Anglican Communion. Ian is particularly committed to working with religious communities to help them achieve more inclusive and liberationist approaches to faith and witness. Ian is from Massachusetts and resides on Martha’s Vineyard.
